To eat or not to eat... that is the question

So I'm sitting here at work.. 12 hour shift and it hit me like a ton of bricks! I really... really need to blog more. I have a lot of thoughts running around in my head and I think it's important that I get them out right?? I mean think of my unborn children. I'm sure they'll be interested one day. Plus I know all of my many fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting and wondering if I'd ever be back!? And we can't have that can we?? HELLS to the NO! So anyway, here I am living my average life having this epiphony about my blog all the while debating whether or not I should partake in this beautiful cake sitting directly behind me. What could be the reason for this delicious cake? (Quite possibly the question on all of your minds.) Well, the answer is simple. We LOVE food in the pharmacy! Especially on Saturdays, when we obviously don't have much to do if I'm blogging. So anyway, I think I will go have a bite of the delicious cake since my diet totally starts tomorrow! HAPPY SATURDAY everyone!!

Today is my Dad's birthday so of course I wanted to do a birthday shout! There are so many reasons why I love my dad, but for time purposes I'll only list a few.

1) He can make the best of any situation through his amazing sense of humor. Nothing is every too big of a tragedy to laugh at and then just move on.

2) The way he loves my mom. I'm truly blessed to have parents not only love each other, but show it in a million tiny ways.

3) He always knows just what to say to make me feel special and important at the times I don't.

4) He's an amazing cook! His favorite thing to do is watch the food network to get new ideas... my favorite thing to do is sample those new ideas:)

5) When I was a little girl I loved spending time with my dad on his day off. We called these days "fun days". He would always take me to McDonalds or somewhere else delicious to eat. Once I asked him if we could switch meals. I wanted his Big Mac and instead he could have my kids meal. As you can see, my love of food and huge appetite started at a very young age.

6) His love of the gospel. Several times thoughout my life, my dad has been my rock. He has helped me see how simple life can be through living the principles of the gospel. He has always lead by example. I've always known that I should do what is right because I knew that's what He was doing, and I wanted to be more like him.

7)The way he treats his parents. My sweet grandmother passed away almost 3 years ago and before that she was a widow for over 10 years. I was always so impressed by the way my Dad loved and took care of his mother. Whether it was inviting her to dinner or breakfast-- I know she always knew how much he cared.

8)He's always willing to do anything for anyone else, especially for our family.

9)He loves me no matter what. I always know that I can go to him for anything and He'll be there. I'm truly grateful for that.

10) Last of all--the fact that I can call him Daddy and all of my other siblings get annoyed:) I found this song today and I'd like to share it in honor of my daddy! Let the mocking begin! Love you dad! Happy birthday!!

The Big 25!

Yes, it is true.... as of November 12th I am officially 25! It's crazy to be getting older. I still feel 21 inside! Pretty Crazy! Anyway, I had to post about how amazing it was! It was the birthday that never ended... at least not for a week. I'm very grateful for late packages! Just makes it all that much sweeter! So first off I had the extreme pleasure of spending my official birthday day listening to an incredible musician-- aka one of my favorite female artists of all time-- miss Imogen Heap. It was Amazing!!

As I said my birthday lasted about a week. I got cards from my parents, grandparents, even my brother remembered. And of course each of my amazing sisters came through with packages filled with all kinds of goodies! One of which I haven't even opened because it's at my parent's house... so I guess that means my birthday still isn't over! :) Here are a few pictures of the vinyl my sister Allie sent me. This past weekend I got invited by my dear friends Kandis and JaNae to go hiking/rafting in Moab! We went with JaNae's singles ward and let me just say it was a rockin sweet time! Then to make my weekend even that much better we had the Fray concert on Saturday night when we got back. It was super fun and Jack's Mannequin might be my new favorite band! The Best Week Ever!

Last saturday I got back from the best week ever! I went to Iowa to visit my sister Sara and her family. And to make it even sweeter, my sister Brooke flew in from Louisiana for the week too! We had such a great time catching up, laughing, taking the kids to the park, eating anything and everything we wanted, watchin chick flicks, sewing aprons( a first time thing for me and Brooke), and hittin up the local gas station "QT". If you've never been to a QT you really haven't lived. They are the Catillac of gas stations. They have about 20 different flavors of soda, but it's not just that, these sodas are crisp and delicious! We also went on a really cool walk through the neighborhood with the kids. I think this was my favorite part of the trip. The houses down there are gorgeous! And everything is so so green! I think Iowa is definitly a place I could live. Another highlight of the trip was running around Gray's Lake. It's a big beautiful lake sort of close to down town where tons of people come to walk, run, roller blade or whatever they want! Sara and I went running one morning and it was beautiful! Brooke stayed home to watch the kiddies... or sleep, I forget which:) On the second to last day there we went up to the capital and took some sweet shots of everyone! It was great! I really feel lucky to have such amazing sisters. I look up to each one of you so much. I'm only sad that Mom, Allie, and Erinne couldn't be there too.

Peep comes to Logan!

This past weekend my dear dear friend and bestest cousin Kim came up to Logan to visit me! We had a great time just relaxin and soakin in all the wonderful things Logan has to offer. Mainly Aggie ice cream of course! Aggie Blue Mint still rocks my free world:) We began the day with the traditional Cafe Rio Pork Salad! Mmm! delicious! Then we took a tour of good old Logan, stopping at some key sights. Mainly we just explored campus and got some sweet photos.

This first pic is of the plaque that sits in front of the Aggie A! The infumous spot where one is kissed to become a true Aggie.

You stand on top of the A on either a full moon, or the night of a homecoming game and kiss someone else who's already a true Aggie.

Looking around for someone to do the dang thing with!

But there wasn't a soul in sight worth becoming a true Aggie with so...

We improvised.

The rest of the day only got better when I recalled a little something I learned on the mish called "Shake Face". You simply relax your face and shake it from side to side. Then when the time is right you snap the photo. The result.... GOLDEN!

My happy face ever since I moved to Logan! I truly am livin the dream!

My wonderful new laptop! Makes my desire to blog that much easier to fulfill!

Yes, this is just a picture of my car in the garage, but seriously such a big deal! The first few weeks I lived here I was banished to the street... in the bitter cold... so now that Kansas, our other roomie moved out, I'm livin it up in the garage! Booyah!

Shalee's little dog Wheezer. I've never been a big fan of dog ever, but I guess he can stay since it is Shalee's house and not mine. Nah.. he's alright. Love you Wheezer! Mean it!

The living room where we used to faithfully watch the Bachelor... that is until last week. Just a little too "DRAMATIC" if you ask me Chris.

Here's our kitchen. I love to whip up sweet meals here after a long day at school and work.... Ha! microwavin meals is more like it! Miss you mom!

New

I decided since I made the big move to Logan that I needed a new blog. I am starting a whole new life up here am I not?? Logan has been amazing! I absolutely love it up here and I realize how important it is that I document this part of my life. I have met so many amazing new friends and I feel like no one gets to see that unless I blog... so there's my new motivation:) I was even going to begin the blog today with some sweet pictures of my apartment, my room, the little dog wheezer, but of course, my camera battery died! But don't fret! It's charging now and I promise photos will be posted very soon! I guess that's all I have to say for now, but seriously, MUCH... MUCH more to come! I know most of you really don't believe that, but I speak no lies. Stay tuned!
